Jenifer Turner is a doctoral candidate in the Psychology Department, School of Behavioral Sciences at Liberty University. Her dissertation research is a qualitative phenomenological study exploring the lived experiences of autistic women and their friendships.
The purpose of this qualitative phenomenological study is to investigate adult autistic women’s lived experiences, comparing their friendships between their adult same-sex (perceived or diagnosed) autistic and non-autistic friends.
This study will benefit society through increased knowledge of autistic women’s friendships. The results will be used to create a book and training materials for therapists, organizations, and the public.
